Maya Ratsey has been a professional musician for 15 years. He grew up in a household with music always playing and at the age of 10 he began playing guitar and bass. Over the next 4 years he would fall in love with the instrument and spend 10 hours a day diving deep into learning anything and everything that had guitar or bass on it from Earth Wind & Fire and Toto to Allan Holdsworth and Van Halen. Maya graduated from the Schumann School for the Visual and Performing Arts, part of the Indian River Charter High School system. It was during his studies there he found the sound he wanted to create on guitar: a groove based, melodic approach that at any moment can have a flash of shred. There afterward Maya decided to pursue guitar and music as a full time career.

In 2011 Maya moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to attend McNally Smith College of Music where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance in 2015. During his college studies he has worked hard trying to learn the craft of his heroes: Paul Jackson Jr, Michael Landau, Steve Lukather, and Dann Huff. After college Maya began touring the world performing with many different genre of artist from R&B, Rock and Pop to Hip Hop, Jazz and Contemporary Christian. He is a versatile guitar and bass player who can bring anything from, the largest ambient synth-like soundscape to the grooviest funk.
